The City and The House

You live in your old house that you have inherited from your grandfather. Your grandfather had considerable wealth... His house was one of the prettiest structures one could see in the village - the folk would gather every once in a while to have fun together. But now, the times have changed; the village is no more, and the folks have gone their own separate ways. You and your house are the only things whose existence outdate the new, growing, lively city that rises around it.

Indeed, times change. New, tall, soulless buildings rise every day, and your old way of life is challenged. The health issues brought about by your age do not help either. The businessman pressure you to sell the house for their urban projects. The young citizens give a funny look at your out-of-place house. You struggle walking through a city obviously built for motor vehicles.

And once every other day, you get news of the deaths of your beloved old friends. Who knows when you will be the next?

You have to make a choice - will you fight to keep the house or will you abandon the city for good, looking for your old way of life elsewhere in the countryside? Or is there another option?
